Preshitha Province Coimbatore is one among the thirteen provinces of CMI Congregation. It has an approximate area of 32,000 sq. kms. and the members are engaged in various ministries like pastoral care of the Catholics, uplifting the tribals of the remote villages of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, providing education, social service and inter-religious amity. The province has undergone tremendous growth in the number of personnel as well as institutions. Trusting in the Divine Providence, the Preshitha Province is marching ahead with great vigour and dedication to spread Christ's Kingdom far and wide in the years to come. Christ School Chennai organizes a “Christ School Run” in association with the Y’s Men International, Hindustan University Chennai and YRG Care (Aids Research Centre) Chennai. The run is for a cause – the Rehabilitation of HIV affected Children. It will be known as ‘CHRIST SCHOOL RUN’ and will be held at Marina Beach on February 28th at 6.30 am. We expect minimum 2000 registered participants apart from the several hundreds of school and college students, CRPF, NCC, etc. The celebrities namely, Mr. Vikram (Cini artist), Mrs. Kushboo (Cini artist), Mrs. P.T. Usha and many others have agreed to attend the program. Ministers, Government officers, NGOs, BPOs etc. also will be attending.

Preshitha Celebrates Golden Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Fr. Francis Vineeth Vadakkethala and of Reiligious Profession of Fr. John Peter Muringathery and Fr. Paul Savio Pudussery on 26th January at Bharathamatha Ashram Palakkadu. They are three Pillars of our Province. They have led our Province in to new Ventures with their own Charisem and Personal Leadership. We are thankful and proud of having our Jubilarians. 1. In connection with the Year of Priest we are arranging a one-day thological Seminar on Priesthood on Saturday,13th March, 2010. Mar Jacob Manathodath, Bishop of Palakkad and Fr.Cyriac Kanichai are the speakers.
2. In connection with the Year of Priesthood, we are arranging an annual retreat by His Grace Mar Jacob Thunkuzhy, Archbishop Emeritus of Diocese of Trichur from Sunday evening, 25 April - 30th Friday

Karunai Illam
Karunai Illam a sister concern of Preshitha Service Society, in Collaboration with the Tamilnadu State AIDS Control Society has started serving the People Living with HIV/AIDS in Coimbatore since 1 Year.
Karunai Illam gives the following services:
1. Free treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS
2. Free Food during the treatment
3. Anti-retroviral Tablet initiation with full observation.
4. Treatment to opportunistic infection like TB etc.
5. Individual counselling, family counselling and support group counselling.
6. Nutritional Counselling, Yoga Class etc,
7. lively hood programmes to HIV/AIDS people

2) NEW HORIZONS OF INDIAN CHRISTIAN LIVING
With a special emphasis on the Indian and Christian dimensions of theology and spiritual life, we have brought out a collection of 50 articles in a newly edited book, New Horizons of Indian Christian Living (November 2009).
Originally being conceived as a Festschrift in honour of Prof. Dr. Francis Vineeth, these articles explore various dimensions of Indian Christian living from six different aspects, such as (1) Father Francis Vineeth: Person and Mission, (2) Indian Approaches to the Bible, (3) Indian Christian Theology, (4) Inculturation and the Indian Church, (5) Indian Spirituality, and (6) Indian Christian Paradigms of Philosophical Synthesis. Taken together, the whole collection would function as a reference volume to many aspects related to Indian Christian living, an area of lively research and realizational interest.
