Preshitha Province Coimbatore is one among the thirteen provinces of CMI Congregation. It has an approximate area of 32,000 sq. kms. and the members are engaged in various ministries like pastoral care of the Catholics, uplifting the tribals of the remote villages of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, providing education, social service and inter-religious amity. The province has undergone tremendous growth in the number of personnel as well as institutions. Trusting in the Divine Providence, the Preshitha Province is marching ahead with great vigour and dedication to spread Christ's Kingdom far and wide in the years to come. Hearty Welcome to Newly Ordained Priest

Christians of Mikumbune Parish welcomed Fr.Joy Chirayath. Since Fr.Provincial promised them a young energetic priest, they were expecting for his arrival. As Fr.George introduced him as Joy Chirayath they gave another name “ Joy Mwenda” Mwenda means “beloved”
The presence of Deacon from the Parish was a blessing. Fr. Joy immediately started to learn Kimeru language and customs. The Holy Mass, Sacraments and other prayers were recorded and the learning has started.

On 24th June, Joy gave baptism to 28 infants. House visiting and blessing along with Deacon and Fr.George was conducted which made him say “ Parish life is very busy”With Fr.Sebastian he visited Meru Museum and got much knowledge about the people and their customs. The Kenyan food with out pilippili ( chilli) is a challenge on Sundays. But he takes it with a missionary spirit. The fear of thieves was slowly removed because he found the people so friendly and welcoming. Thus helping in the office and knowing about parish administration, slowly Fr.Joy Chirayath is becoming a Mumeru and that is why people call him “JOY MWENDA”, the “Beloved”. May the dear bless him to become good missionary in Kenya.

A Vision and Dream is fullfilled on 14 August in Palakkad. Strings, our music Academy with a modern Music Studion is blessed by Bishop of Palakkad, Rev. Dr. Jacob Manamthodath and inagurated by Fr. Provincial.

Our beloved Fr.SUNNY PARAYIL CMI (39) slept in the Lord today(29-05-10) at 2.00 pm while he was coming to the velamthavalm to attend final profession ceremony,his bike clashed with a KSRTC Bus. on way to the hospital he died. Christ School Chennai organized a “Christ School Run” in association with the Y’s Men International, Hindustan University Chennai and YRG Care (Aids Research Centre) Chennai. The run was for a cause – the Rehabilitation of HIV affected Children. It is known as ‘CHRIST SCHOOL RUN’ and held at Marina Beach on February 28th at 6.30 am. The several hundreds of school and college students, CRPF, NCC, etc. The celebrities namely, Mr. Vikram (Cini artist), Arya(Cini artist), many Police officers and many others with 4000 Students paticipated in the Run. Karunai Illam a sister concern of Preshitha Service Society, in Collaboration with the Tamilnadu State AIDS Control Society has started serving the People Living with HIV/AIDS in Coimbatore since 1 Year.
Karunai Illam gives the following services:
1. Free treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS
2. Free Food during the treatment
3. Anti-retroviral Tablet initiation with full observation.
4. Treatment to opportunistic infection like TB etc.
5. Individual counselling, family counselling and support group counselling.
6. Nutritional Counselling, Yoga Class etc,
7. lively hood programmes to HIV/AIDS people
