01. Udhayam
UDHAYAM Uplifting of the Disabled by Habituating and Activating Youthful Abilities and Methods - is a charitable institution. Udhayam runs a training centre for the mentally challenged boys. Twenty mentally challenged boys are undergoing training in this centre.
It is situated in a village called Thoppumpalayam, Chennimalai, Erode district, Tamilnadu, India. People are generally poor farmers and many are doing work for daily wages in the farms and in small industrial units. They are not ready to expose their mentally challenged children to the public and not to send them to the schools. Their poverty is the one of the reasons not to send them to the schools or training centres.
The birth rate of mentally challenged are increasing in India. In this context we felt that it is our responsibility to start some program to bring these marginalized section of the society to the main stream. So we started a small training centre for the mentally challenged boys of Erode district with 5 boys depending on Divine providence and donation of the generous people in June 2003. Really we are experiencing the Divine providence in the running of this centre. Now the number of inmates is steadily increasing. Local people gave only one time contribution to start the centre
02. Suhruth Bhavan
Suhruth Bahvan Home of friends - is another centre run by Preshitha Province at Ottapalam, Palakkad Dt. Kerala for the Street Children. They are picked up from railway stations or market places. They are generally orphans or abandoned by their parents. Certain rackets uses these types of children for begging or criminal activities.
Suhruth Bhavan aims at bringing these children into main stream of the society. Since this is a felt need of the time we have started a small centre in a rented house with limited facilities. Here we give them love lavishly which they have never experienced in their life. We provide them good education. We are planning to train them in some trades or job oriented program and help them to settle down in some profession and life. Here also good Samaritans are there with their helping hands.
03. Sanjoss Balabhavan
Sanjoss Balabhavan St.Joseph Boys Home is yet another centre for the economically poor children and tribal children of Attapady, Palakkad Dt.Kerala, India. It aims at to establish a permanent centre for the Socio-economic and educational uplift of the children from the tribal families and other marginalized groups of Attapady.
Attapady is a hill station and under developed area. People are economically very poor. Schools are far from their houses. Poverty and lack of conveyance prevents them attending the schools. Here Preshitha Province came forward with a boys home which accommodate poor boys and tribal boys and provide facilities for good education. This was started in 1990. It accommodates forty children now.
